Cleveland Browns linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., 2022-2023 season

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. was taken off the field on a cart with 10:34 left in the third quarter of Thursday night’s Browns-Steelers matchup.

Browns players knelt around Walker while he laid face down on the field. He was eventually rolled over to his back and loaded onto the cart with an air cast on his left leg. He was officially ruled out.

Walker went down chasing a screen play and it appeared Steelers offensive lineman Chukwuma Okorafor stepped on his leg.

Walker won the Browns’ starting middle linebacker job in training camp and is normally the player calling the team’s defensive signals. He was replaced by third-year linebacker Jacob Phillips.

Walker is one of the Browns team captains.
